I was think about this some more, and realized my previous description of the concern was not correct. Hopefully this might help clear some muddy waters just a bit, but I'd love to get some feedback from you guys: does your experience match mine? I haven't put a caliper on it to measure exactly, but if you hold them back-to-back, you'll see. ![]() 40 S&W/.357 Sig mags have a noticeably wider feed lip gap. I'm not sure when the switch occurred, but older. This is no the case, however, with older mags. The only difference is the stamping (part number), and position of the round count holes. To make a really long story short, I started grabbing mags and comparing the feed lip gap on them, and it looks like with later production Mec-Gar mags, they actually are interchangeable more specifically, the Mec-Gar mags marked "MG-P226-40" are the exact same size, angle, feed lip gap, everything, as the Mec-Gar mags marked "MG-P226-9," as well as all my other P226 9mm mags. After a lot of digging (and forgive me if this has already been covered here), I've arrived at an answer: sort of! ![]() 40 S&W/.357 Sig mags for 9mm, and vice-versa. Ok, I know this has been beaten more than a dead horse, but the other day I went looking for a solid answer on whether you could use.
